FINALLY! Thanks for bearing with me and all the new subscriptions. Hopefully these will come more quickly now. I've been upgrading, rearranging the "studio" and all kinds of stuff. But strap in and let's get editing in Cinelerra!

Don't let the multiple parts fool you - it really is VERY easy. I just wanted to be thorough. After this, you should be flying through your basic video projects. Part one features a chuckle, and the initial setting up of the program defaults.

Sorry about the quality of the chromakey on this one - I kinda threw it together without much tweaking because I just finished a major upgrade and fresh install on my main system. But I hope you get a giggle out of the intro.

  • is there a windows version of cinelerra?

  • @nairad100 Unfortunately, no. However, Blender lets you do some incredible node editing and there's a Windows version.

  • Hello,

For some reason whenever I load a project into Cinelerra, I'm able to edit and view the video, but there is no sound. The audio tracks show that sound is there but it doesn't play the sound back.

    The video is an AVI.

  • @Tusunami18 Sorry this slipped through the cracks... in case you haven't fixed it - make sure your AVI encapsulation has a separate audio stream and you should be good! Also make sure it is MP3 format...

  • Hi, i don't have the "use software for positioning informations" option, instead it says "disable hardware synchronization". Please help.

  • is this for mac?

  • Have you dabbled with Kdenlive ?? How would you compare the two ???

  • @vaasnaad I dont know how to use blender well. Ive had it for over a year. Im getting wubi JUST for cinnelerra, it looks badass haha!

  • LOL "Ok that's a time out"

  • @getjiggy21 No sweat... I'm always open to new ways of doing things. And hope you didn't think I was mad 'cause I dropped off the face of the Earth for a bit! Yeah, that's what's keeping me from KDenlive but I admit I haven't tried the latest build. Looks promising.

  • @getjiggy21 Most of my tweaks are after the preview too! Enable the tracks you want to work with then put the cursor on the INSIDE of the clip near the edge where it turns into a directional arrow, then click and drag and it will alter the length of the clip. Sorry for taking so long to get back!!
