The UNREAL Truth about Anandamayi Ma and Paramahansa Yogananda, the Kriya Yoga Master and founder of Self Realization Fellowship. A lot has been said about Yogananda posthumously - this video addresses some of these things and attempts to give the Himalayan Kriya Yoga master's perspective on them. Yogiraj Gurunath Siddhanath has also had personal experiences with Anandamayi Ma, the bliss permeated mother, which he describes here, in the context of the Avadhoot Avatar Doctrine. This doctrine of knowledge attempts to put things in their proper place in terms of spiritual hierarchy. Reigning over the hierarchy of the heavenly host is the divine visible-invisible savior called Mahavatar Babaji, who is the Mahayogi and Mahaguru and supreme Yogiraj, called the Nameless One, and yet goes by many names, including the Non-Being Essentiality, The Is-ness of the Zero-Not-Zero, The Eternal Now, Shiv-Goraksha-Babaji, Gorakshanath, Gorakhnath, The Lightning Standing Still, the Lakulish of the Lilac Lagoon, the Lightless Light which Lights That Light which Lights the Light of All Our Souls, and so on and so forth.

Good grief, "upon occasion", not every minute of the day or night. People would notice this and be unnerved. These Divine beings do not want to draw attention to themselves or make others uncomfortable. Avatars normally desire anonymity and don't go around showing off miraculously divine attributes unless its appropriate to the occasion.

I agree about the softening and watering down...

He is right....It is a waste and a bother to even mess with christians...As a kriya yogi student I am saddened...Especially by the general consensus that miracles are important and needed for one's beliefs....So what if he put his hands through her feet...What if her feet were solid at the time? I ask you what difference that would make to you....none I hope.....It must be human nature to want to hear stories of magic and miracles...

The only point in citing this is to show what occurs at the higher levels of avasta or spiritual states of consciousness. When one becomes avatar then there is no karma, hence, no permanence in the physical world: like writing on water, it doesn't manifest. As Sri Yukteswar noted, "wisdom is not assimilated in the mind but in the atoms". Ma's vibration was so high that her physical body was made of light. Our focus is always on God but these miracles do occur spontaneously and are wondrous. 3~

Gurunath's book "Wings to Freedom" is the greatest treatise on Kriya Yog, and spirituality in general, since Paramahansa Yoganandaji's "Autobiography of a Yogi". I consider both of these noble tomes as my old and new testaments of Yog. Everyone should read them both for the complete story of Patanjali's Eightfold Path.

How does this gentleman know that the Kriya Yoga taught by Paramahansa Yogananda is watered down? Did he receive initiation from Babaji, Lahiri Mahasaya or a direct disciple? Maybe he was told that by someone. I think he should be very careful about what he says.

And please, physical feats do not have much to do with the spiritual life, ie physical miracles should not be used as a yardstick for spirituality. Spirituality indeed can only be measured by the DEGREE OF DIVINE UNIVERSAL UNCONDITIONAL LOVE!!! GOD IS LOVE!!!!

@HamsaYogi I think the reason mjuaku mentions this is because the video mentions that other beings claiming to be Avatars cast a shadow. This implied that an Avatar never casts a shadow even though 'upon occasion' was mentioned in regards to Anandamayi. You can't say that sometimes an Avatar will not cast a shadow and then say you determine someone is not an Avatar because you saw their shadow. Follow? Even if all this may be true.

@HamsaYogi when ramakrishna became enlightened there was a glow coming from his entire body, but he prayed to kali to take it away as it would scare off the simple people.
