A PSA base on real life events in Glendale CA. in 2005
Breif desc:
In January of 2005, Juan Alvarez parked his Jeep Grand Cherokee on the Metro link railroad tracks in Glendale, CA. He then stood by as an approaching passenger train smashed into it. The train derailed into another train traveling in the opposite direction and 11 people were killed and nearly 200 were injured.

The narration is definitely cynical and insincere. Probably the intent of the editor. I'm sure thia is not the original version of the PSA. For the record,IMO, Homeland Security is a joke. I've seen them in action and they are lame. We need a higher caliber of intelligence in law enforcement.

@kmothersil A typical F59PH locomotive (The type of locomitive that Metrolink mostly ues) weighs about 130 tons, while the cabcar weighs only about 55 tons. BIG difference especially in a collision. Had the locomotive been pulling the train, the train that hit the truck would have not derailed.

Was the train derailed by the Jeep being pushed, or was the locomotive pulling the train?

I presume had the locomotive hit the Jeep, the much heavier locomotive would not have derailed.

Moron Juan Alvarez is being tried for murder I believe.

He should be executed.

Ok, I seriously doubt Metrolink has anything to do with the making of this video. To sum it up, all this video says is that there was an accident with the train. There are thousands of miles of railroad operating 24 hrs a day, 7 days a week. No, what happened isn't funny but the narrators tone doesn't fit the video. And yes it does sound like a phone sex operator.

Hom much does a cab car weigh? The reason is that I don't know how an SUV can derail three trains caused by one chain of event.
