Washington, D.C., vocalist Ronnie Dyson enjoyed both stage and RB success. He was the lead actor in the Broadway production of the musical +Hair, and his initial hit was a song from the off-Broadway musical +Salvation. "(If You Let Me Make Love to You Then) Why Can't I Touch You" was both Top Ten RB and pop in 1970, and "I Don't Wanna Cry" was also Top Ten RB that same year.

Thank you sylvette323: Nice cover and a very powerful voice. But, what happened to "oo who stole Mama's heart and cuddled in her garden? Darlin Emmie, la la la, oo la la la..."? According to Charlie Calello this song was about a real person. Be sure to surry down to "Soul Picnic," Michele Kort pp.62 & 196. Be sure to check out the vinyl back cover of Eli to find out who she was. It's nice to see Pop's, first lesbian love song, evolving. Rabdrake
