Monday 4-21-2008 I had my second bone marrow aspiration since diagnosis of relapsed AML (Acute Myelogenous Leukemia). I wanted to share it with you.

you can be- but I generally choose not to be. However, I will take a painkiller or an Ativan to help stay relaxed~

I think it should be mandatory that everyone get this procedure no matter what...in the thigh without pain killer, while in High School, by their classmate before lunch and right after gym class....during a final exam in English Literature or Geometry....just a suggestion to help stop ADD.

It's not too bad-- I always get Oral sedation (fentanyl and ativan) and it reallly depends on who does it. My oncologist does it excellently like magic so the pain is minimal-- but I've had some done that hurt like a BIOTCH because they weren't as experienced.
