In this video a YouTuber offers a fairly common criticism of philosophy. According to his view, philosophy is useless because it doesn't test its ideas against reality. In other words, it's isn't scientific or empirical. But, the claim "philosophy is just mental masturbation" is not empirically testable or verifiable either. So, does this imply that we should reject the claim that "Philosophy is mental masturbation" because it is also mental masturbation?
