  • Been tasting the 10 y.o. Glenkinchie this evening. Not too impressed to be honest. OK, it´s a matter of personal taste of course, to put that first, sure. The nose, fairly allright, actually rather powerfull, i must say that. The arrival, enough spice and pretty intense, so far so good.....but then.....I get a palette of so much floral that overrules the vaniila and honey just too much. Then it goes dry and in a sec...it´s all gone. Leaving me a bit desillusioned. Not bad, not good either.

  • Drinking Glenkinchie 12 at the mo. Great whisky. Have to say, finally really cool to see someone doing a whisky review that's isn't showing off or talking bs. Great style man, you're making whisky accessible, keep it going man.

  • i just bought a bottle of the 12, havn't opened it yet, but found your review very good. I am looking forward to opening mine.

  • It's interesting to me that this 12 yo is generally underrated. Not an expert in Lowland scotch, but I don't see this as being inferior to any highlands I have tried. Not sweet at all for me, if you want sweet , go with Highland Park 18 (not my choice). This is exquisitely floral and vegetal and dry. I didn't like it that much at first, but by the time I was half way though the bottle, I was a convert. Oily, fragrant and traditional. One of a kind.

  • Cool vids dude, but a wee bit of advice, if you ever do come here, it's not pronounced Edin 'burrow'.

Saying Edin 'bruh' would be close enough to how we actually say it.

    Slainte!

  • And thanks for great videos. I enjoy them very much! =)

  • Greetings from Finland. My favorite whisky is Caol Ila, because it is so well-balanced Islay, but I like various types of single malts.

When I tested this whisky (12), I sensed a sherryish nose, but when I added water, it enhanced into a brandy-like scent. The green flavours remind me of birch leafs and dandelion leafs. I think that it is light and creamy, but complex enough to be interesting. I would offer it to people who are not connoiseurs yet. What do you think about my opinions?

  • Thanks for the review, I'm thinking of going to the distillery in December!

  • like what your doing man ;) I enjoy watching your videos, I'm a scotch fan myself ..

respect for the Black Sabbath's warpigs going on in the backgrounds

Peace from the Faroe Islands, Sigmund

  • Hi Peatluvr,

Thank you for the review. Liked it very much and liked the way you compared the two of them. It is a fine Whisky and a lot of people will enjoy it since you have reviewed it. Cheers from Holland.
