  • @codypolo Agreed, and it can perfectly replace the good ol' drive shaft couplings, i can see this example bearing heavier loads...

  • From the Torvec site: "This Torvec CV joint, which uses spherical gears, is interchangeable with existing CV joints, and has lower weight and manufacturing cost than current CV joints."

Note: This CV configuration can somewhat be viewed as an equal ratio internal gear system, similar to the common automotive oil pump. The 'gear teeth' or 'pegs' illustrated here do in fact mesh in and out of engagement (just as with gears) in this Torvec design when operating at an angle.

  • sorry, spherical gearing

  • Torvecs cv joint is based on spearical gearing. take another look, it might look like gear teeth.

  • chill the fuck out, he needs to learn but you need to stop smoking crack

  • CV joints dont go in place of any gears you fuck nut....anywhere theres a pivoting point, in the diff. to wheel driveline, you have a CV joint.......in the steering knuckle of a solid axle machine, you would have a universal joint.....u better stay in school....and dont try to become a mechanic anytime soon

  • i would think this would be impossible to do with gears!!!
