[Update 10/20] The man behind the camera recently commented on a few of these videos. Here's what he said about the show: "This was months before they took on the Mookie Blaylock moniker. I labeled the video tape as: 'Stone Gossard/Jeff Ament Post Love Bone Project - Off Ramp Cafe, Seattle WA 10/22/90' ... it was apparent during the show that this new "project" of theirs was certainly something special - during one of the songs you can hear me and Mike (the guy who's band played after them) talking and saying something to the effect of 'this is fucking beautiful...!'"

P.S. All the videos can now be embedded for ease of distribution.

The ENTIRE FIRST SHOW EVER of Pearl Jam is up in this series. Known as Mookie Blaylock back then (10/22/1990). They were forced to change their name when they got a record deal, but still called their first album "Ten" - Mookie's jersey number.

An AMAZING, rare show for the hardcore Pearl Jam fan. Soundcheck is included: video numbered as "0". This is 1 of 8, Release.

  • That someone saying "this is beautiful" was me... I was the person holding the video camera. See my comments posted on the Even Flow (Soundcheck)video.

  • u lucky dickhead lol

  • in the twenty movie they say eddie ran off stage to cry

  • Anyone who was lucky enough to see them in a small venue early on was able to see a band of unrivaled rock authority and power. I saw them 1.5year later at a college venue where they played all of Ten and SoL&T. It was a musical/religious experience. This, however, is an amazing find. Thank you for posting this.

  • man why didnt they have this in PJ20, they had footage from their 2nd ever performance. this is amazing, they sound so polished and they were only together for like 5 days before this performance, according to the documentary.

  • They are geniuses since the beganing :)!

  • This is such a great video. I love the way that things are a mess at the beginning, and then, around 1:30, they find each other, and the magic starts to happen. "I am myself, like you somehow..."

  • @mmriley nervous laughing i guess eh?

  • @iforgotmypen

We were laughing in disbelief / amazement, realizing that we were witnessing something extra special (in a time period when there was lots of great stuff happening in Seattle).

This is the only video footage I was able to get. As someone else commented, the cameras were pretty big back then and the only reason I was able to get this is because I was friends with one of the other bands on the bill that night in Oct, 1990. To your point however, that time in Seattle was amazing - Nirvana, Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, Mudhoney, Screaming Trees, Mother Love Bone (just prior to this). I used to collect set lists back then; have several from all of the above

  • @mmriley

To be at their first show, to tape it, and then to see the band grow into perhaps one of the top five rock n roll bands of all time, and in my opinion probably the most socially conscious band of all time, is quite amazing. Did you get any footage of any of nirvanas early shows also, i know in seattle at the time nirvana already had a huge following well before this show, because of bleaches mild sucess?
