The USA and much of the third world are the only places left on earth that still have a major Christian majority. This is not only vexing but it is quite telling to the high level of superstition and it's probable correlation to poor education. To be fair, statistically the better a modern government is run the less religious the society is.

You can't live without internet in a modern society.

Frankly if there will be religions left, then they'll be far more awesome than some desert tribe scribblings.

Religions are death cults, basing everything on afterlife, myths, copied fables and invisible entities. Religions will never disappear while there are still people who believe, because they WANT to believe, whatever it is that gives them comfort.

At most religion would become more moderate. I think somewhere down the line, religious fundamentalists/fanatics would do something that the entire world would view as so abhorrent religions with extremists attitudes would be abandoned entirely for more moderate religions or for atheism.

Religion should have died off when we realized the Earth was billions of years old and round. It's a Dark Ages way of thinking. It's called the Dark Ages because Christianity decided to destroy or assimilate any and all beliefs into a single religion. Cultures and history were eradicated from existence. Leaving Christianity as the leading mind fuck. Religion can't exist in a universe with life outside Earth. It would contradict everything they were brainfucked into believing.

There would be a shitload of changes, when there is no need to cater to outdated tribal practices.

It wouldn't fix all that's wrong in the world, but it would certainly be a huge leap in the right direction.

If there would be any sort of worship once religion has shrunk to insignificant numbers, then it would be the worship of virtues, which already is pretty much the most common target of worship.
