They are able to force the world to recognize Chinese Taipei banner, despite KMT/Taiwan being a legitimate sovereign government.

The fact if taiwan should try to be independent or unite with china is a tough political question, it depends if you vote for kuomintang or DPP. But china is still a dictature with zero freedom for the people. Suppose this video will be banned by chinese autharities soon enough too, because of what are in these commentaries... The only thing that makes china more of a country than taiwan is that they're accepted by other countries... It's kind of weird to say that people in an area are part of your country if a majority of the people there think they are there own country... I think a unification is impossible to that day that china becomes a democracy...
