(c)1993 NFL; NBC Sports
Only thing I have from the 1992 season; and it was a shock to run into this. This was the tail end of the closing of NBC coverage of the 1992 AFC Divisional Playoff match on January 10, 1993 between the AFC East champion Miami Dolphins (#2 seed) and San Diego Chargers (#3 seed; AFC West title -- first postseason appearance for the Bolts in a decade). The video picks up with O.J. Simpson interviewing rookie Dolphin cornerback Troy Vincent (who had 2 interceptions in the game).
We then go to the New York NFL Live! studio with Bob Costas, Will McDonough and then-recently-fired Chicago Bears head coach Mike Ditka (who makes a quick comment about the NFC Championship game the following week between the San Francisco 49ers and eventual Super Bowl champion Dallas Cowboys), then Bob teases the AFC match between the Dolphins and Buffalo Bills (the last time the Fins, Shula or Marino would get this close to a Super Bowl as well as the only conference championship to be held at Joe Robbie/SunLife/insert name here Stadium) as well as the NBC lineup of Secret Service (short-lived action show based on real Secret Service cases and hosted by Steven Ford {son of former President Gerald}); I-Witness Video and the Sunday movie "Elvis and the Colonel: The Untold Story" (focusing on the King of Rock and Roll's early career and the influence of his manager; the somewhat mysterious Colonel Tom Parker); then says goodnight for the crew (mentioning Todd Christensen as well; one week removed from working "The Comeback" {the Buffalo Bills' thrilling comeback win over the Houston Oilers} with Charlie Jones a week earlier)
God as a dolphin fan this makes me sad. This was the last time we made an afc title game. Since then..crap. ugh.

Mike Ditka appeared on the previous night's SNL, saying the famous quotation in the "Bill Swerski's Superfans" sketch.
