I read a rumor on the Internet that Spielberg planned a sequel to his masterpiece. Where Dreyfuss character wakes up years later in our present time, in the same place behind Devil's Tower Wyoming, having seemingly not aged at all, and with no memory of what had occurred. He is then reunited with his family, who reject him believing he is a impostor. The film was intended 2 b a very dark exploration on people's attutdes of Religion Aliens and God. But the story got scrapped. It doesnt say why.
