Ebay was not hacked, in this case... Personal Computers were hijacked using a trolling strategy where an attacked uses 1000s if not more of already hacked machines to run scripts that try to auto exploit random computers (yours too) in any given IP range. They make sucessfully exploited machines connect to an IRC server (so as not to be tracked) where they use scripts to remotely issue commands to their 1000s of zombie computers. Obviously these guys made one to steal peoples Ebay info.

if you want to see how it works first hand, you can try to make a honey pot for fun, install like win2k on a dummy machine and put it on the internet (outside your network) without updates or security. Periodically check your ports for communication, for example running a cmd prmpt and using netstat. If you notice the system is connecting to a server on port 6667, 7000 or one of the ircd ports u can connect with an irc client and if the guys an amateur see his zombies,

the problem is not ebays unless they continue to ignore the fact there is a problem. These programmers have hijacked real accounts with credibility from compromised computers, and judging by the mass sales of the same items, posted simultaneously, will be working on their code to make it less tell tale, this is just the beginning.... An ez fix is to contact the seller of your items, because a sale posted by a zombie computer will not respond to you, if they do it will be a robotic auto response

Hello alimakjames.
Thanks for watching & commenting. Yes, I understand, however, your explanation while likely correct in part does not resolve how the hackers are able to bypass eb alleged "fraud filters", nor use the very same email address over & over again, nor list the very same articles, using the very same templates over & over. There are only a couple plausible explanations for that, one being they have a trick, the other is insider help from eb.

See my other vid, "Ebay under Botnet attack" for links to news articles about the situation.
See some of my others for the magnitude of the hijacked listings. Up to nearly 60K/account in at least one case. :)))

The hijackings, while not as blatant, are still ongoing w the very same articles listed, more often using an image to insert the contact info. However, IMO, hackers now have full access to Paypal, thus there are more paypal accounts being plundered & robbed. Less hijackings.

So... E-bay Is Hackable,
i say they should create a whole new system and recode everything, their site seems dated.

This stuff is almost unbelievable. Man has gone to the moon and returned safely, and eBay can't even protect us, their customers, from this stuff. I wonder if eBay really even cares at all????
