This is one of the two very first LP records I have owned since I was 8 years old when I received my first record player, which was a Motorola manual-mono children's phonograph in 1974, and amazingly, I kept them in fairly good shape all these years.

My very first two LP records, and the only two children's records I have ever owned originally as a kid are titled: "All About Dragons" on Walt Disney 1966 LP record performed by "Ed Penner" and "Charles Wolcott". The second LP is titled "Puff 'N Toot" by the "Rocking Horse Orchestra" on mid-1960's LP record.

The sound quality is pretty good for children's records made for low-fi children's phonographs as the main target listening group.

Transferred to digital using stereo gear on background photo.

  • Is that Wendy Williams as the vocalist? Sure sounds like her.

  • @cmulwee001

I am not sure if it is her? My record album jacket is smugged over with ink from when I was a kid and accidentally spilled ink on the jacket(luckily record did not get ink on it!!). My apology for not being able to give you a good answer to your question...Friends, Lloyd.

You may know who I'm talking about. Wendy is girl with the magnificent voice who sang

'The Land Of Lemonade And Lollipops' and 'Squee Gee The Happy Clown' Wish I could find out more about her. The internet has dozens of people with that name, but none of them are her. Wouldn't surprise me if she looked as good as she sounded.

  • @cmulwee001

It would be interesting to find out more about her, and if the web is hard to find info about her on, possibly, a book on children's vintage records at a store like Barnes & Noble might be of help if they have such a book that is?? I noticed their selections on the topics I look at relating to old records is dwindling compared to years ago. Thank you again for listening to this vintage LP record, and have a Happy Holiday Season just ahead...Friends, Lloyd.

  • i remember this song from when i was a kid and i never forgot it after 44 some odd years and that i think is the issue with today's children's music it is too commercial and too fake no heart in it like with these records from the past . I also remember a faster version that might be on a 78 if you ever find it i would really like to hear that as well thank you so much for all the great videos to help us to remember a much better and more innocent time all the best

You are welcome! Thank you for listening to this vintage children's record, the kids now seem to be more into violent sounding music and video games, I don't think most of the current generation kids know these older children's songs. Have a great weekend!!...Friends, Lloyd.

  • OMG!!! Great to hear this song on YouTube. I loved this song as a child!!! I used to hear the "Sparky" version. This version is great too.

Thank you for checking out this vintage, children's record. They don't make them like that anymore for the kids of today...Friends, Lloyd.

  • Wow! I had this on a 2 record set on Childworld records called ''Happy Birthday Party'' along with a mess of other very talented musicians covering a wide range of styles. The hard work was recognizeable as the music is a window in time before uploading this & that was mainstay. One song on that record was a latin flavor piece that sounds like early Tito Puente.I'd love to find out who that band was! Yeah this song put pics in my mind while played on my suitcase phonograph 40 or so years ago.TY!
