I'll post some video this fall and will drop you a note then so you can check it out.
My local lakes all run about 35 - 40 sq. miles. I thought they were big until I looked up Lake Champlain just now!
there is one other Vic new Vic 18 owner in my suburb of Dallas. So we shall have two on the lake soon.

Yes, I just bought one, a 1981, and will be picking it up this weekend. Very excited!
I have crewed on some large boats but this is the first sailboat I have owned.
I'm in the Dallas, TX area.

Hey Brice, I just got back with my Victoria 18. Two back to back 650 mile days. She towed back beautifully (I am amazed it stays on the trailer sometimes! It's the lead in the bottom I think!) and I am happy to say that she's in even better shape than I expected. Barring any surprises I should have her in the water next weekend.
In you video here, what speed do you think the winds are?

@PeterGozenia Hi Peter, Glad ypu brought her home, you're gonna love this boat. I guess it was 10 to ocassionally 15 knots, anything much over 15 I like to reef the sail and I'm getting a smaller jib , and another reef point put in the main so she'll go comfortably in higher winds, I'm often feeling over powered on Lake Champlain, I'll try to post another you tube for ya of a harder blow., Brice

Hello,
Is that a Victoria 18?
PeterGozenia 1 year ago
@PeterGozenia yes , a 1981 Victoria 18 I have moored in St. Albans Bay, Lake Champlain, Vermont,
Do you have one also?

@crispaire1 I love my Vic, alot of fun, my first boat too, I am learning alot with it and just ordered a smaller jib, and will have a second set of reef points sewn into the main as Lake Champlain can get prety wild real fast!
