@Droprite Horizontal will grind a little faster but you are restricted on the size of material. But Vermeer and Dimond Z well hell all manufacturs make a big horizontal so you can still grind big wood. A tub is nice but much more prone to throwing stuff out then a horizontal...... if you dont keep a tub full it will throw suff so you have to be careful were you use one. Hey ovalnet do yall own any Dimond Zs?

@ovalnet disaster recovery is mainly brush rightso why not just get a vermeer if it is faster at brush, dont u think a horizontal would also be faster, new to the grinding so just a thought

Thats very helpful, thank you for a straight answer...

@Theweirdchainsawguy Tips? Do you mean hammers on the hammer mill? Depends on the wood and how long we are running. On average running just for local businesses we replace 2-5 per week. If we are doing a disaster it can range from 10-40 per week depending on the raw debris. The war of metal vs. wood. Hardest wood around here is oak and cypress.

@ipookie87
We have owned both and the Vermeer can produce faster brush but not big wood. The Morbark puts out more volume. The saying. "You need a bigger bus to move more people, not a faster one." If your looking for a Tub Grinder for disaster recovery or big wood reduction, get a Morbark. A Vermeer can do everything else.

Sorry couldn't find a song that I thought was unique or one that could fit the "action", LOL. I am open for suggestions when I make my next clip "DUAL 1600's" where we will try and get both our 1600's side by side. The Vermeer in this clip may have been a TG9000 now that I think about it.
