I remember in one of my psych classes they showed us evidence that children are born with the ability to apply the scientific method. They don't know they do. They couldn't define the scientific method if you held their teddy bear hostage. But they do it.

They make a theory. They figure out what they'd have to do to prove or disprove the theory, then they do it and see the results incorporating it back into their theory.

We should be teaching kids (and adults) how to be even better at this.
