Under the BCS system, certain schools are eliminated from championship contention before their season even starts. Undefeated teams from outside of the privileged conferences are offered only a verbal slap on the back. This is wrong. When the BCS imposes a glass ceiling on these teams, it is not merely denying fans bragging rights. It is robbing schools of the substantial institutional benefits—improved funding, alumni networks, publicity, and admissions numbers—that these playing opportunities would bring.

  • i bet big conferences are afraid of a playoff to because they are afraid of the possibility of getting embarrassed.

  • BSU had an opening in their 2011 Schedule. Over 9 Major BCS schools had that date open too. It was offered up as a 1 time home game to all these schools. ESPN even guaranteed national coverage, and none would take it. The system is flawed and your argument is baseless. As fans we deserve a playoff system.

  • Every A.D. I've heard from has said that BSU is really pushing for a home-and-home or home-home-neutral ground series. I mean explain to me how Texas is willing to play say Wyoming this year, and Wyoming was bowl bound, and clearly losing to Wyoming would have ruined their season, but they took that gamble, but they're not willing to play BSU, presumably b/c BSU might win? But 2 years ago, UT scheduled Ohio St.?!? It's more about stadium size and revenue per fame, teams lose too much with BSU

  • Why should TCU, BSU, and Cinci get to be in the playoff, b/c they are undefeated?!? Through the regular season TCU had I think it was the 101st worst Strength of Schedule, and BSU had the 99th. Those teams largely only won b/c they played teams of a far worse caliber. And don't give me the line that teams are scared to play them. UT for example played a bowl bound Wyoming, and played TCU just two years ago. Bottom line BSU, TCU, et al need better opponents. It's on them, not everyone else.

  • You didn't watch the Fiesta Bowl did you.

  • We want Playoffs *clap clap, clap clap clap*

  • Its simple have Texass and Assbama play BSU and TCU. I know BSU has tried to get many BCS team to play them but they won't. Until teams like BSU and TCU can get BCS teams to play them, how can they prove how good they are.

  • Wow! bitch more will you? Two teams that actually played someone went undefeated as well, Texas and Alabama. They got the go ahead. You would be 9-4 best if you played their schedules.

  • TCU and Boise would have no shot at the title...there is a lot of problems with the BCS system....but any system will have their problems...and anyways what should the response be...they can't change the system in the right this instant...a handful of teams went undefeated...so quit your bitching....as you can see when the put Cincinnati against Florida...they got destroyed....and it doesn't make for a fun football game to watch

  • Whats stupid is that they set up the bowls as

3 versus 5 and 4 versus 6. IMO it should be 3 versus 4 (Cinci TCU) and 5 versus 6 (Florida Boise). But no BCS doesn't want BCS teams playing non BCS teams. It's ridiculous.
