The universe doesn't owe you anything. Your life does not "have" to have a greater purpose. Enough people wanting the truth to be otherwise doesn't give the desire any credibility. Learning how the world and universe around us works isn't "sad." On the contrary, it's enlightening in a way that is far more wondrous than your "Goddidit" explanation ever will be.
