Argent - Since You Been Gone

The original Argent lineup reformed after 37 years to play the High Voltage Festival in London's Victoria Park on Sunday 25th July 2010.

Argent are Russ Ballard (Guitar/Vocals), Rod Argent (keyboards/Vocals), Jim Rodford (Bass) and Rob Henrit (Drums).

Since You Been Gone was written and recorded by Russ Ballard for his 1976 album, Winning but is probably best known for the 1979 cover version recorded by Rainbow.

The song has also been recorded by Clout, Cherie Currie, Head East and Master Blaster!.

Also covered by Chris Impellitteri on his album, STAND IN LINE (1987), which features the embarrassingly cheesy quote from Chris, "I promise my solos will only get faster." (or something that meant that.. Not digging the album out to check just now), (I'd link it here, but YouTube won't let meh..)

Argent were never the same without Ballard. He wrote all their best tunes. I know Argent was happy with the fusion direction they took, but he says these days that the first two albums by Argent are his faves. 'Nuff said! (Mind you, I bet Russ is embarrassed at his fluffed guitar solo, tho'!)
