@Rawk4Life That's why I said "as a more rounded-up genre," defined, if you will. Embrace and Rites of Spring were pioneers, proto-Emo, but they could also be considered into other genres with like Descendents of Dinosaur Jr. SDRE and JB defined the staple sound of Emo.

@spikevalentine13 Actually, you're still a little off. Emo began in the mid-80's with the bands Rites of Spring and Embrace.
