http://twitter.com/gnomedex - http://twitter.com/chrispirillo - Phil talked to us about science communication online, and how the "new" (now teenaged, in more ways than one) media has affected it. Specifically how instant info - passed on Twitter - can actually make misinformation spread faster than good info, and how freaking hard it is to clean up once that happens. http://www.gnomedex.com - http://chris.pirillo.com

I can tell you my personal reason: near-unbreakable hardware (in my experience) and perfect power management; you know, the sort that makes you reboot only after kernel updates.
My 8 years old iBook has 5 to 7 standby cycles per day, with dozens of apps and documents continuously open. For my next laptop, I hope I can give Linux a real try. Although awesome with servers (my job), last time I tried Linux wasn't quite there with mobile PCs. Plus, I use OS X like any unixoid OS anyway.
If that's true, just stop writing comments. I'm curious, ceresWar: you don't strike me as somebody who listens to a 45 minute long lecture. Your style of argument doesn't reveal a wealth of critical thinking skills.
So what's the deal here? Are you mad at Chris Pirillo that he uses Macs now rather than modded Windows PCs like he did before? (Phil Plait has one ore two Macs as well afaik.)
ceresWar, you certainly make it appear as if there's nothing left to discover about your style beside your inventory of expletives. It's fine with me.
My lips are shut, but my fingers keep on typing. And my mind is stilly trying to form a profile of the real-world ceresWar. Does (s)he really think that »macs sucks [sic!]«?
