Super Wario Bros. 3 (SMB3 Hack by Googie) - Part 1 (Plus News)

I'm short on time, so I can only do a few levels for now. Hopefully I can do more later.

Since a lot of people have been asking me about Quick Bros. 2 (I'm really quite surprised), I have news about the definite state of the project.

I've cancelled it. I don't like it and I'm not going to release it. It wouldn't make any sense for an author to release work he doesn't like himself. So sorry.

As I've mentioned before, I'm still working with Googie on some collaborative projects.

With Game Maker 7.0 Lite/Pro, All ya have to do is:

1) Create the sprites (Best way to do it is to c & p) You will use in-game

2) All SMB3 maps are ripped, you can download and tile out the landscaping

3) construct objects for use in game, make sure you use code

4) make the levels, if ripped, add edits

5) play your so-called "ROM Hack" and go from there.

I actually tried GM before I started to ROM hack in late 2007. I immediately tried out djrellik's SMB3 game, as well as another one that I found. Playing the good old NES SMB3 every weekend growing up, I could tell that the physics weren't 100% the same though, and it sort of took the joy out of it for me. Don't get me wrong though; I still do like and respect the work that was put into it, and I've actually thought about doing some new GM stuff lately. GM is NOT the same as ROM hacking though.
