This is so cool - especially the fact that it is a public school! PBL has changed the lives of virtually every student lucky enough to be part of a Project/Problem Based Unit. For teachers that would like to teach PBL in their classroom without a large base of support, check out the website: GoTeachGo for complete teacher-friendly, ready-to-teach units.

Is this a charter school? How are the students chosen?

Great question, thanks for asking. Manor is a public high school (not charter, not magnet). To apply, students need to live in the district and have been promoted to ninth grade. From there, it's a lottery.

    Man, how exciting!

These new Edutopia videos have been excellently well done; great video work and appropriate (and usually inspiring) music.

I teach 5th at an IB school and our students have a year end project called Exhibition; I see so much of what's happening at Manor, happening during Exhibition. The kids really do love to use technology in their presentations; sometimes using technology just for technology sake :/ I'll be living in Austin in a few of years and would love to work here.
