The diamond is an antique European cut that was cut somewhere between 1890-1930. The channels are being filled with jade from Big Sur and the ring will be white gold.

  • big i bet it is fake

  • It's a 3/4 ct. antique diamond, European cut from somewhere between 1890-1930. Since it isn't a "modern brilliant" (a cut developed in the 30's), it is more affordable than a new diamond. In my opinion, they have more character and they're socially responsible in the fact that they're not funding the mining of new diamonds. Not replying to correct you, so much as spread the word. If you're looking into an engagement ring, keep antique diamonds in mind.

  • Thanks for the advice! I was just wondering about something like that. Nice ring you carved there. I like it. Would you know if it's possible to carve your own wax mold and send it in somewhere to be casted?

  • I didn't actually make the mold, the jeweler did. I met him at an antique fair where he was repairing vintage jewelry. He had the know how to make a ring from scratch and the contacts to find antique diamonds. What you see here is just the tip of the iceberg. The channels were filled with jade and the ring was smoothed down in the end. Hope this helps, good luck!
