Say what you will about the movie, but that sword was awesome. All the other sword tricks were taken. LAser swords, fire swords, swords that were found in stones, swords that were cut in two and possessed magic powers. The tri-blade, projectile sword was the next advancement in movie sword technology.

If you look at other clips from the movie you'll see that many others enjoy the movie and label it a cult classic as well. To each hi sown I guess. :)

@Loafaeralus This movie sucked so hard me and my friends cried of laughter.
That´s how bad it was. We were around 18 when we first saw it. Never again. Poor actors. This movie must give them traumatic memories.

wow what a sword!! lol

Wait Sword and the Sorcerer is a bad movie? BLASPHEMY! This movie was pure fun, triple bladed sword looked ridiculous at first but after the sword shot out blades like missiles I thought it was the most awesome thing in the history of swords since Conan's Atlantean Sword.
I'm not saying you're obligated to call this movie good simply because it has a cult status(I hate a lot of movies that have a cult status) I'm only saying that you might have thought the movie was taking itself seriously.

WTF i saw this in 1981, I was 30 years old, loved it.
Nothing wrong with this movie, you people putting it down are assholes.
-
Saw it as a kid. Well, the music score was'nt all that bad ;-)
-
Oh come on. When you were a kid and you first saw this, it was the coolest sword in the world, next to Lion-O's Thundercat weapon.
There are no dumb movies. Only dumb audience.

This movie is Albert Pyun's magum opus, none of his later works were anywhere as good, and it's far superior to any of the Conan clones of the era. The humor in this movie is INTENTIONAL. It works because it revels in its ludicrousness. Watch the banquet battle if you don't believe me. It also works because the Talon character is more of a swaggering smirking swashbuckler than a lumbering barbarian.

@reptomicus Hey there.
Yeah, I tried watching through it, but I just couldn't. I really disliked it that much. And believe me, it's rare for me to dislike movies with an epic amount of ludicrousness ;)
