Thanks! I like when people like this song, but I feel mildly guilty about it since I flat out *STOLE* it. I put it up for my friend Cathy, who needed some prayers at that time. Usually I would have done something differentish with it, but Kelly Joe is just *so damn good*, I hear how he did it in my head and any changes would diminish it. Not that I can match his skillz playing it his way. But a cool song. :)

Flyhaf the tone on that hound dog is awesome. Goes to show you, a great player ( like you ) can make even less expensive instruments sound great!

I really like the tone on that thing. I've since cracked the nut, but glued it with gorilla glue and it seems to work. I have a Bell Brass Dobro (roundneck) that I set up to play lap on also, it's got a different, raunchier sort of blues tone, which is nice. Thanks for listening!

Man your're good flyhaf. That voice! Nice mics too. What are you recording into if I may ask? Thanks!!

Hey, thanks! Stole this one, tho'. I use my buddy Jason's recording gear, and he pays way more attention to it than I do. When I get back home after Christmas I'll check with him on which mic.'s are which. I just putter around and mutter.

Great playing! I'm a big Kelly Joe Phelps fan, and you definitely do it justice. Your phrasing on the vocals is great. Is that a Scheehorn dobro?

Gibson owns the Dobro name (I'm pretty sure), and farmed out the moniker to their chinese copy makers. So I got this thing on-line, It's called a "Hound Dog", and cost about 300 bucks. (Year ago.) I have a bell brass dobro I play sometimes, that sounds good kitted up this way. But having played the squareneck (and my old resonator before that), I like the combination of wood + metal cone. I certainly have NEVER regretted picking this thing up!
