The end of the world has been just around the corner since the year 999, the year 1999, the 12th century when 1/4 of Europe died from the plague, the great war of the world in the early 20th century, Hitler was the antichrist signalling the end of the world in the mid 20th century, etc. etc.

Belief in "the end of the world" reflects your own psychology very accurately. Actual reality on the other hand seems to continue despite many centuries filled with signs that the end is near.

@CasualTatsumaki I guess it makes me upset when - how to say this politely... people avoid taking responsibility to solve human-caused problems, give up and say that there is no hope, based on wild poetry in a book written by Hebrew tribes several thousand years ago. Your video juxtaposing the Bible quotes and the results of human destruction of the environment illustrates this point perfectly. So, I should have instead wrote, "well done!"

@CasualTatsumaki Actually, yes, I agree that human destruction of the environment is indeed in danger of bringing about "the end times" or at least serious problems for all life on earth. I did not mean to undermine your very important message with my hasty comment. Human folly, environmental degradation, etc. may indeed turn the End Times into a self-fulfilling prophecy.

@CROBN Sorry, that comment is more towards many other commenters to your video, to the many people (now and over the centuries) who are quick to jump to the conclusion - based on reality as well as interpretations of the Bible - that "the End Times are near."
