The Psychedelic Sounds of the 13th Floor Elevators; Live in 1966
Tracks written by,
Roky Erickson; Stacy Sutherland

Don't know what Radio Station or who the Anouncer was but this is a BITCHIN KICK - ASS live broadcast from '66.
The only two tracks I received. Definitely edited for the Station.
(Any Information on this would be appreaciated, Thanks.)

I mixed in some Sell-out Commercials in the beginning:
Burned From RECORDS (They are not called Vinyl. We don't call CD's, Silicons!).
I removed the Pops, etc. as best I could.

For Teen Agers only, "The Living Eye Club, Houston - Promo", where the Elevators played.

"Psych-Out - Movie Promo Spot" Not mentioned here but, Jack Nicholson as STONEY. A Must See Movie. (Actually, released in 1967)

And a very popular, Cool, Hip, Fun "1966 Plymouth Baracuda Spot". MUSCLE CARS!!! Yeah Baby!

Enjoy!

  • Thanks for the correct info. Funny how bootlegs are almost like people in a sitting circle who start at one end saying a simple sentence & by the time it goes around to the beginning again, has totally changed. mine said from "Radio ?" .Who would think tv?

  • groovy psych out commercial, in Psychedelic Color!

  • @RadioCannedMusic Well , I could see where one could draw that conclusion. Some live radio performances do exist. It's a shame there IS no TV footage available from these performances. I've seen color footage of The Southwest F.O.B. and The Five Americans from Chapman's show , but , The Elevators' footage is believed lost forever. Pity.

  • This is really cool , but , it was'nt from a Radio broadcast. It was from a Dallas TV show called "Sumpthin' Else" ( I think that's how it was spelled.) . Ron Chapman , the host , was a Dallas Radio personality (Maybe he still is ? He was from the 60's to the 80's , maybe he's retired.), but this was a live TV show he hosted , he's the one asking Tommy Hall "Who is that , doing that DOOGA DOOGA DOO?". I LIKE HOW IT'S LAID OUT LIKE A RADIO SHOW WITH THE ADS , THO'. Well done.

  • Geeze, they make the ads sound so creepy in the beginning.

  • woah this is ill. we even get a jug demo!!!

  • This recording is priceless and should be in the Roky Erickson Museum .
