My third MH3 guide, this time on Jhen Mohran! This is what I consider an abridged guide. This means that instead of making you guys sit through multiple videos, I've taken the opportunity to cut down on the length of the video focusing mainly on key points during your fight. Before hand the video ran a total of 27 minutes or 3 Youtube videos, I've brought it down to just under 10.

Some tidbits on this video:
* This is actually two runs in one video. The first run was a "fast" run where we managed to kill Jhen without needing to use the dragonator a second time leaving us with 7min and 24sec remaining.
* Because of this I had to use our second run for the end portion of the fight. The whole finale is from that video.
* In both runs I got Earth Dragongems! I'm now sitting on a stack of gems that I don't need (typical).
* There is a hunter on this video who keeps saying the stuff I repeat as a note (you can spot two of em in this video). This is information I already knew going into the fight since I've fought the thing more times than I can remember.
Some misconceptions on Jhen Mohran and info I left out:
* You do NOT need to use the hunting gong to make Jhen flip over on his back. In fact, that is not how it works. You need to deal him enough damage to flinch. The gong helps, but is not the cause. For example, I once had a fight where he flipped over as soon as we started shooting at him (he was too far to get in the mouth or melee).
* You CANNOT use the Anti-Dragon Bomb anywhere on his body except for his mouth. I've tried this before when I wanted to try bombing the scales, doesn't work. It's also a waste of good damage in either case.
* The gong does no damage to him whatsoever. Use it only to prevent attacks that would otherwise hit the boat.
* There are two different versions of Jhen falling over during the second portion of the fight. The one shown in this video is the only one that will have him flip over completely exposing his mouth. The other has him falling to his side in the other direction and is temporary.
* When you have weapons that are the highest point in damage or at least a step away from it, you no longer have to worry about using the cannons. Your weapons will usually deal as much or more damage than the cannon can output.
* Ballistas deal less damage than cannons, but can shoot off more rounds quicker and have a longer range. Cannons during the second portion are viable only when Jhen reaches the first brim of sand you can see.
Equipment Info:
* Full Lagaicrus+ Armor Set (Critical Eye +2, Awakening, Elemental Up, etc.)
* Switch Axe = Tough Break (R) [Crystal Path]
Songs Used:
* funkin' - samurai champloo music record by Nujabes + Fat Jon
* Pursuit ~ Cornered (variation) - Phoenix Wright - Ace Attorney OST by Masakazu Sugimori

@TheVideogameralex Its high rank only. And no, you don't HAVE to break anything for it. its a somewhat common drop. Hint, elder dragon = Alatreon. Might want to try him too if you can.

I'm a S&S user. Should I switch to a different weapon for this battle and if so which one?

@NinPir7 its good to have them. I used to use one all the time before switching back to my SA. As long as you have an Ice or Dragon weapon you're good!

@chaosdraco You need ballista ammo. Its why you see me always getting ammo from the rack at the front of the ship.
