@OfficialArma Yeah your probably right, I thought Scotland was unreliable due to mild temps but the smaller verticals usually mean its ok, unless a poor season. I think the problem is more the high winds that strip snow off the mountain and cause powder to turn to hard pack quite quickly.
@atraherne In the winter months there is nearly always decent snow cover in the resorts in the East of the country like Cairngorm, Lecht etc however Nevis usually has a good Spring and unreliable winter where skiing often lasts until May or beyond like a couple of years ago.
If you did go to scotland skiing I would combine it with other activities (like a mountaineering course), or try to ski all 5 areas in 5 days. The ski areas are small by aplpine standards, and also the weather is far more extreme than the alps, which can close the runs even when there is good snow.
There is good snow in scotland now though, while the alps have a season end shocker, and scotland is such a great country you'd find something to do even if you couldn't ski,
u can ski tons ive been skiing from november till february(by the way its only february) theres still about 1ft of snow at my house and about 3-4ft up there
It varies considerably. Sometimes there is snow but so much wind you can't get up the mountain. Sometimes there is almost no season at all. At this moment in time the Cairngorm resort is reporting the best conditions in Europe!!!
