I would not worry about that coil...especially if it ohms out OK it should be good.

Thanks for the encouragement! I'm gonna wait a few days untill I paint the chassis with the stainless steel paint.
Even with a magifying glass I can't tell wether the coil is nicked, or it's something on the coil, but I am not gonna touch it! I think I will paint the interstage transformers after I get the radio working. In case I have to open the covers to replace the transformers, Next step, polish the cans up!

Your doing great! The stuff on the coil could either be mould or wax but it's hard to see in the video..

Sometimes wax or paint was used to keep people from messing with the coils. Looks good.

It's in my nature to worry I guess, but I'll try not to worry about the coil and think positive. Thanks!

You're doing a wonderful job! Keep up the good work! I wouldn't worry about that coil, it looks like old wax to me.
