Holy Joe was on the Japanese release of Pop, but I think you are right in that U2 have never played it live (apart from the K-mart launch of Popmart). The finalisation of the album was very rushed in the end and U2's manager had booked the tour before the album was even released, so I think they were making it up as they went along for some of it! U2's 3 albums from the 90s are the most heavily played in my collection.
i was 16 when POP came out. it changed my life. i told The edge that a few years ago when i met him in the clarence - in dublin. "yeah....pop is great, great record" he said!!
i never understood why U2 played Holy Joe at the press conference, especially when you consider that it wasn't on the album AND i don't think they played it on the tour.
