Religion is like a penis.

It's great to have and it's ok not to have one.

@thecommentmaster1 Science has explained what happens after death... the brain and body stop, and the "soul" of a person, their mind, ceases to exist. Then the body that was once your mother or grandmother or best friend or dog decays and rots. They've even explained all the myths about afterlives by studying near-death experiences: the brain releases chemicals that cause any pain you're in to stop and be replaced by a sense of euphoria while you travel through a dark tunnel to a light. Science.

If I had a choice to be atheist, I would. But being in an all-catholic family, they get concerned that I won't go to heaven and I'll go out and mow people down on the streets with an M60. I don't believe in god, but I'm fine with the base morals the church has, or at least most of them. It's good not to fuck too much, but I'll still jerk off. I'll feel pride, but I won't hold it over people. I might want things, but not ALL the things. People can be good WITHOUT god.

Ok, to be fair... he DID have someone to hand it off to. It's in their book, seriously. But I do agree that people need to stop thinking they have a monopoly on truth and God, and be a lil more open minded about the fact that so many religions exist because different people have different spiritual needs. If there were one religion that could truely satisfy everyone... it would be the only one left by now.

He says, "what if I have my own beliefs" if you are going door to door shoving YOUR book in my face I am going to be offended.
