Good on Meredith Baxter for stepping up and going public as a lesbian. She clearly went through a lot of unhappiness and confusion because she couldn't acknowledge who she was sexually---and human nature doesn't get more basic than that. Simple realizations can take decades when you're encouraged every day to fear the consequences, as gays and lesbians are in this culture. She took matters into her own hands rather than be pilloried w/ her partner in the tabloid media. Bravo, lady.
