Mine was done by putting my head in a cast mold to form a cast for positioning my head in the RT machine thus allowing them to precisely build my mask by laying sheets of warm wrap over my head and then build the mask from this hardened cast.

I'm glad that this wasn't how my mask was made. I had the plastic netting material & it is pretty simple & a lot less intimidating.

This is not even close to how they make a radiation mask. I had mine made yesterday. They now use a netted plastic material that is melted in water it is then placed completely over your face and attached to a table. they then form it around your head and face as it hardens. If you can relax enough it is actually not that bad of an expiereance because you can breathe through the material. I freaked out the first time and ruined the mask. Not so bad when you know what to expect.
Thank you very much for doing this video. My Dad is getting his radiation mask made next Tuesday and this explains a lot. Some of the gear looks pretty similar to what the Mythbusters have. : ) I don't think Dad will take much comfort in that little detail though.

Your welcome, a friend from school was the one in the video and he said there was nothing to making the actual plastic mask, however nowadays they are making the masks out of a netting material. I haven't seen it done before but it probably allows the face a little more comfort in letting you breath as opposed to a full plastic mask.
