This is at the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development - Rio De Janeiro 3-14 June 1992. Her speech at that time is not even more relevant than it is today. What she is trying to make the grown-ups understand at that time...is unfolding before our very eyes today.
Raised in Vancouver and Toronto, Severn Cullis-Suzuki has been camping and hiking all her life. When she was 9 she started the Environmental Children's Organization (ECO), a small group of children committed to learning and teaching other kids about environmental issues.
They were successful in many projects before 1992, when they raised enough money to go to the UN's Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro.
Their aim was to remind the decision-makers of who their actions or inactions would ultimately affect.
The goal was reached when 12 yr old Severn closed a Plenary Session with a powerful speech that received a standing ovation.

oh shut up. please. how about we just stop with technology? lets just stop EVERYTHING were doing for a freaking animal that doesnt do anything. lets just stop using our cars because it hurts the poor freaking birds.
were not afraid to let go of wealth. WE earned it. what WE do with it is OUR choice. if you wanna make a difference why did you spend your money making a speech instead of donating it? war is NEEDED. what happens if we didnt go to war with NAZI GERMANY? exactly.

The speech was more impactful when she it delivered it without loking down.. perhaps if this would have been done more often it would have been more sharp...but was a good one..anyways

Amazing and she put to shame all of us and all the adults. The nature have been ignored for many many years, people pay attention only to mamon, ignoring not only how far they grow away from God and the purpose why we are here, but also how it is hurting us, our lives, nature, animals. We forgot to live, we live to exploit everything around us and at the end it backfires at us! How narrowminded.
