I saw Mr. Davis about 15 years ago in college. He was pretty unassuming, just a guy and his guitar. I perked up when I heard him go into this song- both a biting satire of his experience in rehab and a sort of snub at the typical singer-songwriter tripe out there even now. I loved it, bought the album and still listen to it now.

I loved this album and Idiot Express. Granted I haven't paid overmuch attention to his later stuff, but Bright Apocalypse was the last album I really followed. I'm very invested in getting to know his new stuff, but I have such a connection to his older, more down-to-earth stuff that I think the transition might be odd.
