  • How will a single 3870 fair with Tessellation or how well would a 3870 +3850 setup fair since that is all about I can afford for my ATI box?

  • Tesselation is only supported by ATi's 5000 series GPU's at the moment.

  • hey, how about you stop lying about this being directx 11 man

  • Where did I say that this is DX11?

  • Ya from what I read it goes back to the radeon 8500, wow. It bothers me that they advertised the feature but it was never used in games. I remember when Ati lost the lawsuit about advertising HDCP in certain cards but it was unusable. They advertised 2 features in the hd4000 series that never saw the light of day in actual games, tesselation and hardware physics. I would be pissed if I owned one of those cards, pissed enough to consider a class action lawsuit. Why not, its happened before.

  • @greyfoxzero Actually it goes back to way before that, I think the 9700 series supported it. But it was ATI's own version and it never really caught off. DX11 set it as the standard and since then the companies have had to adopt that standard (And ironically, despite ATI pushing for it for years, Nvidia's first cards that supported it were far more efficient at coping with tessellation). Good on ATI for developing the technology so early on though, I just wish they weren't held back.

  • @arvutihull Tesselation goes all the way back to the hd 2000 series.

  • just run the same settings as you arvutihull..difference being q6600@3.6ghz ddr2@1200mhz..cat drivers 10.4... score 1047, fps 41.6...Looks as if the cat drivers have improved heaven benchmark for the old 3870x2 :)

  • lol.

  • you didn't but when i searched dx11 this came up so got pissed off, i hate search engines
