  • This is a shit train introduced and imposed upon the community by shit politicians.

This piece of crap replaced the Southern Aurora and the Intercapital Daylight Express. Those of you who used those trains know what I'm talking about, don't you?

Why are we Australians so compliant when politicians screw us? We really need to make much more noise and fuss and stop with our obsessions about Big Brother and Australian Superstar or Ipods or whatever the latest bit of mind-garbage happens to be.

  • @jamcgar The XPT is well and truly past its used-by date. The problem is that it cannot be replaced until the entire rail system is overhauled, otherwise you will end up with state-of-the-art trains using late 19th century infrastructure.

  • When you go on as many XPTs as I do, it's 10 minutes late, it's right on time. Trust me!

  • @ngjhwpc oh great I am taking them from Melbourne to Sydney to Brisbane soon

  • @JBofBrisbane May be it should have been both LOL. But it was the V set driver. Very hard for the pollies to do there fame and glory routine when someone else rubs their noses in the dirt as to how slow their new train is.

  • @cooky2304 - the XPT power units were always derated to give a top service speed of 160km/h - ironically the same service speed as the 1937-vintage Silver City Comet. But yeah, someone in Railcorp or whoever controls the track down there should do something about its general condition.

  • @faulcon1 - which driver? The driver of the V-set for overspeeding, or the driver of the XPT for not driving fast enough and embarassing them?

  • Nice

  • based on the intercity 125 from the UK

  • NICE! 5/5
