I agree with you that the current punishment, home arrest, is ridiculous in comparison to what he did. But the point is that Al-Jazeera (unlike the other news sources that broadcasted the same event) did not show the parts they did not like—that is the Israeli soldiers stopped the Israeli man and arrested him. And that's why Al-Jazeera is not a respected news network. (Just like some North American news networks—they just show the things they like and want the viewers to believe.)

He, a palestinian, has been denied a homeland and national identity that have been denounced as human Rights abuses since the creation of the state of Israel in 1948 and an aggressive and also illegal ocupation of his land since 1948 in which settlers like the one he attacked has been slowly and not so slowly stealing his land and he and his people being killed for it.
