They got what they wanted and the leadership of IRA got rid of the IRA but the volunteers in the IRA were still prepared and more than willing to continue on fighting but it wasnt up to them was it? Sinn Fein got what they wanted aswel you know and if it wwasnt for the IRA they wouldnt have got anything. The IRA did all the work for them. FUCK YOU.

@timeforrupert1 "The IRA could have kept going" Then why didn't they? The IRA's aim wasn't achieved so they gave up, (Good Friday Agreement...). The Brit's aim was achieved (Good Friday Agreement, NI staying British) so they went home, job done. The IRA disbanded, (CIRA etc aren't real IRA, just a bunch of idiot extremists that wanted to continue their pointless "fight" even after the real IRA had accepted defeat) the IRA didn't win, NI has stayed British. Get your facts right.
