Somehow, I dont think Mel left because of trolls. I think the real reason was because Fakesagan blocked her. Mel has dealt with trolls all along and there is no reason to think that she cant now. But, Fakesagan was huge in her mind and his rejection of her hit her pretty hard. I have nothing to back this up but my observation of Mel and my gut feelings about it all.
We really don't know why she left. It could be as simple as not liking how she looks with no hair.
