I watched this movie the other night and ever since, it's been on my mind. I thought I would be creeped out and grossed out by the idea of a 12 year old and an older man but somehow this movie was... normal? When it ended, I felt heartbroken for both of them. It was a very good movie. It's different, unique, but its good.

The girl was in face/off the same year. I respect iron for such a role and only someone like him could pull this off. I remember the film in the day... watched it on sky a lot!

I dont understand them, sorry. Both the movie and book's contents are the same, only what changes is the exterior. Here it's most obviously softened with an attractive lead male and a mature appearing "12-year-old". Yes, the portrayal is not as dark, but the facts remain the same - yet viewers choose to overlook these when they see what a handsome fello Humbert is, or how pretty Lo is. People are superficial and opinions fickle.
