At the end of the day Windows will continue to have an overwhelming majority of both consumers and software support. Linux really only serves a purpose in a business environment. Who gives a shit about windows 8. Pirate windows XP or windows 7 like an intelligent human being.

there are desktop applications, REAL applications, in the software center of any Linux dostro. Most of them are free, and Steam can run as well in Ubuntu based Linux like EOS. Windows8 is a slow, inconsistent amateurish shiny plastic kid toy in comparison. EOS has taste. Really good taste. Extremely user frinedly, damn fast, easy to navigate, uncluttered and stylish like nothing else I have seen. Not plastic shiny windows8 "style", but real style.

Windows has the most and best applications, but the OS itself is pure shit.

I do not care about multiple processes, I want multiple windows and I want them in a desktop environment, and I want real applications, not phoine apps, I have nothing in the world to use them for. You are working for MS, right? Well, tell your bossm, this was a lost customer.

I also like the concept of Microsoft now being able to spy on me no matver what I do. I don't really care much for privacy, so I think windows8 looks good.

Windows8 is a mediocre OS in terms of speed for a modern OS. Every other OS vendor has been doing performance optimization as well. Fx. Elementary OS is way faster, very consistent and very pretty UI. I learned it within 5 minutes, even the concept is new to me, and I liked it from the beginning. I can only imagine how it will be on new hardware, cause my hardware is not the newest. Windows8 is just a joke. It's an incocnsistent piece of crap, and it will never make it into buusiness.

Of course, you're absolutely right. I must HURRY out and buy windows8, if I do not want to miss... all those... eh. probaly exiting things, like using split screen stripped down phone apps on my desktop computer, instead of true multitasking with real applications, and I see now allso the benefit of having two programs of everything, and I just would love to clean my monitor every hour. It all makes sense to me.
