Deputy Suzanne Hopper Tribute

On January 1st, 2011 - Clark County Sheriff's Deputy Suzanne Waughtel Hopper was dispatched to the Enon Beach campgrounds in Enon, OH to investigate a report of a shot being fired into the camper while the
residents inside were asleep...

While talking with the people who reported the shots fired, her Sergeant arrived...

After Suzanne and her Sergeant finished interviewing the people inside the camper, Suzanne went around to the rear of the camper and began to take photos... She had no idea that the man who shot into the camper was laying in wait for her...

As Suzanne began to take a photograph of a footprint, the gunman, Michael Ferryman, flung opened his camper door just feet from Deputy Hopper - and shot her without warning or provocation....

The shotgun blast to Deputy Hopper was fatal...
