This is a longer video displaying the movement capabilities of my prosthetic eye (left eye).

More Info: I had the operation performed at Royal Perth Hospital free of charge under the public health system. The operation was an enucleation of the eye, performed by an eye specialist - Dr Geoff Crawford and his team who work at the Lions Eye Institute in Perth, Western Australia. For those asking, I do not have a peg. The artificial eye was made by Paul Geelan who specialises in this field and also works in Perth, Western Australia. I believe the name of his company is Artificial Eye Services. I would highly recommend these people if you are considering a prosthetic eye. The movement I have is something thats hard to come by, not many others have such good movement. It really does come down to which doctor does the operation and how well the operation goes.

  • How long was it before you received your prosthetic after your surgery? Like with healing times included because i need one done but I am so scared because I'm only able to take 3 months off work and if the healing/fitting process is longer I may lose my job and I have a mortgage to pay

  • @rahorin 3 months should be enough. I cannot remember exactly but I believe you need to wear the clear shell for 3 weeks or maybe longer. It will take a couple of weeks to get the prosthesis made. My swelling and bruising took a couple of weeks to go down and was only painful for the first few days. You should really be asking your doctor these things.

  • I think you might have had evisceration surgury, because enucleation is the one takes the whole eye ball and evisceration is the one which tries keep as much as the eye structure.

    But I am not sure

  • @pigvivivi no definitely enucleation - the whole eyeball was removed. With evisceration they leave part of the eyeball in there - the part called the sclera.

  • Dude I totally thought your real eye was the fake one. Didn't know until I watched "stab myself in the eye". I still think your fake eye looks more real than your real one lol.

  • @alfaomegaenergia haha thanks im really happy with it too. Its just a normal enucleation i just happened to get lucky with the movement (must have had a really good doctor even though i did it through the public health system). I have seen other peoples vids of artificial eye movement and none of them are close to what i have so yeah i really did just get lucky, the doctors did an excellent job!

  • @Eonnn84
