Magic TG 2010 is here! We played a Sealed deck event, Friday night on the Release date. I got second place. Loss to Master of the Wild Hunt with a Whispersilk Cloak on it. Oh well it was fun. Here is the deck list:

Creatures:
Silvercoat Lion
Veteran Swordsmith
Palace Guard
Undead Slayer
Griffin Sentinel
Razorfoot Griffin (2)
Serra Angel
Siege Mastodon
Sparkmage Apprentice
Fiery Hellhound
Prodigal Pyromancer
Berserkers of Blood Ridge (2)

Others:
Magebane Armor
Lightning Bolt (2)
Pyroclasm
Trumpet Blast (2)
Lava Axe
Glorious Charge (2)
Honor of the Pure

Lands:
Gargoyle Castle
Plains (9)
Mountains (8)

Total: 42 cards.

The only card that was used for side board was Pithing Needle. I use it against Whispersilk Cloak. But it did not show up in time and neither did the Lightning Bolts. When building a Sealed deck the main thing I look for is the right number of creatures. I ran 15 creatures, counting the Castle, which I could have maybe ran 2 or more, but that would be pushing it. You have to look at cards that will give your dudes a advantage. So it was a tough call between red and green. I went with red because it had more creature that gave better advantage against the others, built in abilities. Anyways hope this helps.
It was fun and M20 looks to be okay for Sealed deck, not the greatest but okay.

Later.

  • Nice Foil Lightning Bolt that is worth 10 bucks!

  • @DanielHoward777 I have a Serpent of the Endless Seas.

  • why u dont like m10? :(

  • ice cage is arbitrary at best. counterspells are almost always better had they been a threat. unsummon was barely good before and post m10 makes me cry. (speaking from experience)

  • Red doesn't *have* to be aggro, neither does Green. Nothing has to be anything. Safe Passage would have been helpful but why use it when his creatures' defense and attack would be so buffed already it wouldn't matter? It would waste other cards' innate benefits.

  • Your description info actually just helped me. I had been stuck between which color of M10 I would specialize in (Blue is my favorite but...yeahhh....:( So I went Red and have a Green deck but I wasn't sure what drew me to Red or what to do with it. Your mentioning of Red over Green for built in abilities that buff the creatures (so I can save sorceries and instants for damage and such) gave me a 'brain blast' (hail Neutron!) Thanks!

  • u sticked it do a wall??

  • Sweet.

  • How did you not play safe passage? That card is a BEAST in agro vs. agro.

  • aww you sounded so happy when you read out your green ^^ elves, bears...spiders! and nice pulls, I really need serpent of the endless seas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
