You can say that again. This is the best! I cannot believe how many people out there think Grand Funk was the first band to do this song. I like Grand Funk, but they cannot touch this version.

Thanks for posting, I was just getting back into original versions of songs and remembered this one and until today was not available on youtube. This version in my opinion beats the crap out of any remakes.

@47tooter I know America wont support black people being black, while they fully embrace white people trying to be black, for instance Eminem.

NICE JOB POSTING THE ORIGINAL....

I can't really understand people putting down the Grand Funk version. It seems to me that other than the obvious fact that a black person is singing on this one and a white person on the other, these two versions are using an identical, note-for-note arrangement! I would have put in a few horns, maybe a keyboard, brought the bass more out front--as it is, it's too spare, like a demo.

@MegaMacnasty As I was about to type pretty much those exact words, I read your comment...so, no need. Amazing how one version of a song, with a pretty similar arrangement, is just so much fucking better than another.

@hardstuff72 The Locomotion is NOT from MOtown- it's a Philly dance tune done by Little Eva.
